Revelation 6:12 When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood,

Revelation 6:13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale.

Revelation 6:14 The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

Revelation 6:15 Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave^[1] and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains,

Revelation 6:16 calling to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,

Revelation 6:17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?"

When Jesus opened the fifth seal John showed as some souls (martyr) are standing under alter and plead to the God to take avenge against the earth people who killed them. God replied them wait for the count full fill. Now the Lamp opening the sixth seal, when He open, there are many incidents are taking place on the earth. That means God starting his avenge against the wicked people on earth. He start pouring out his wrath against the wicked. The 6^th seal coincides with the beginning of great tribulation which is the 2^nd half of Daniel’s 70^th week.

There are many prophecies foretold by many prophets what will happen after the tribulation and before the doom day. Let’s start see the prophecies from the bible. 

Matthew 24:32 "From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.

Jesus prophesied about the great tribulation time.

Matthew 24:21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.

Here Jesus mention “For THEN” why He starting like this ? if we see the Mat.chapter 24 talking about the end of the age. The first 20 verses He talking about the tribulation period. When the Great tribulation period will start? The Antichrist will give the offering in the temple of Jerusalem. This was mentioned by Jesus before this verse Mat.24:15

Matthew 24:15 "So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

In this time only all people eyes will be open especially the Judea tribe understand the Christ.

John stating in this sixth seal what are the incidents will take place in great tribulation period.

The prophecies

 

1. St. Paul’s Prophecy

 

Acts 2:20 -The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.

 

Joel’s Prophecy

Joel 2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

Joel 2:30, 31 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke.

 

 

Lord Jesus Prophecy

 

2. Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

 

 

3. Isaiah Prophecy

Isaiah 13:10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

 

Isaiah 50:3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

 

4. Ezekiel Prophecy

 

Ezekiel 32:7 And when I shall put you out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

Why the Sun became dark ?

Amos 8:9, The Great tribulation begins at noon on that day when the sun is darkened

Eclipse

What Joel and Revelation both describe are a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse. During solar eclipses the sun is obscured by the moon except for wisps of light around the corona as if a hairy sackcloth was put in front of the sun. Lunar eclipses often cause the moon to not disappear completely but turn shades of orange and red.

Joel 2:31

The darkening of the sun and the moon turning red like blood (Joel 2:31 NIV).

 

The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

Eclipse Pattern Found In NASA 2015 Data

In 2015 there will be a a pair of solar and lunar eclipses two weeks apart (on the new moon and full moon) one in the Spring and one in the Fall. This could produce four blood moon eclipses in a row, rarity.
