Revelation 12 : 13,14
13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast
to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.
14 But
the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the
wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a
time, from the presence of the serpent.
“Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to
the earth”
Here the phrase “saw that” means the dragon realize
his position.
1. He
lost the battle.
2. He lost his position in heaven completely.
a. For
accusing the children of God he had access to go to heaven. Because without
God’s permission he can’t touch the God’s children, now that also he lost.
Because of that Rev. 12:12 tells “having
great wrath”
“ he persecuted
the woman who gave birth to the male Child.”
Now
the dragon starts to persecute the Israel (woman). By sprituraly two reason
1. He was very anger Rev.
12:12
2. He got full freedom to do
any thing. Here after he no need to wait God’s permission.
Now
we see how the drag will persecute.
1. Now Jews community is not
accept the Lord Jesus Christ is a saviour. Still they expecting messiah. So Satan,
understanding the promises of Christ made to Israel sees his last opportunity
to prevent his judgment by destroying Israel.
Christ, declared before His crucifixion he would not
return until Israel acknowledged Him as their Messiah.
Matthew
23:37-39
37
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those
who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a
hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
38
"See! Your house is left to you desolate;
39
"for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 'Blessed is He
who comes in the name of the Lord!' "
In reality how the satan will persecute the Israel ?
This attempt
is pictured by John, as the Dragon persecuting the women.
The dragon who has seven
heads and ten crowns, is the final human kingdom, pictured as a dragon. Satan
following his fall from Heaven, takes the reigns of power at the middle of the
tribulation to pursue Israel.
“But
the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the
wilderness to her place”
Spiritually
if we see the statement we can understand that, the woman needs to escape from
the satans hand. Her own strength she can’t do it. She needs strength. Here
John mentioned “the
woman was given two wings of a great eagle”, the wings
of a great eagle means the strength of the LORD. In this situation also God
will not leave his own children so He giving His own strength.
We
can read this in Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with
wings like eagles, they shall run and not be
weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Here
we can see this verse is telling “those who
wait on the LORD”,
in the end time the Israelites people eyes will be open and will know that Lord
Jesus is the real Messiah. When their eyes will open, when the satan doing the
abomination in the temple.
We
can read this from the book of Daniel
Daniel
9: 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the
middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the
wing of abominations shall be one who
makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured
out on the desolate."

After the abomination the Israelites eyes will be open and they
will stand for the Christ till their end.
Like this God will help to deliver the His people from satans hand, how
he deliver the israelites from Egyptian king
Exodus
19:4 “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles
wings and brought you to Myself”.
“that
she might fly into the wilderness to
her place”
We
already saw about the word “wilderness“
Colossians
1:13 tells “delivered
us from the power of darkness”. So for the Israelites where lived
in darkness. Now their eyes was opened.
As
per 2 peter 1:4 now the Israelite people was “partakers of the divine nature”, that
means they accept the Lord Jesus Christ and live for Christ, that is john here
mentioned here “to her place” that means they came to right place.
“where
she is nourished”
During
the tribulation time the God’s people will not get anything why because
revelation 13:16 & 17 tells that
Rev
13:16 He causes all, both small and
great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or
on their foreheads,
Rev
13:17 and that no one may buy or sell
except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his
name.
This
this kind of situation how you get food. To live in the tribulation time we
need eagle’s wings(strength) to live. How our God feed to Israelites in the
wilderness. God Himself told in Deuteronomy 32: 11 & 12…
Due
32:11 As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its
wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings,
Due
32:12 So the LORD alone led him, And
there was no foreign god with him.
13 "
He made him ride in the heights of the earth, That he might eat the produce of
the fields; He made him draw honey from the rock, And oil from the flinty rock;
14 Curds
from the cattle, and milk of the flock, With fat of lambs; And rams of the
breed of Bashan, and goats, With the choicest wheat; And you drank wine, the
blood of the grapes.

“a time and times and
half a time, from the presence of the serpent”
Here
John told the time line of wilderness life. Who waits up to end they will be
saved.
Daniel 12:
12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and
thirty-five days.
Daniel 12: 13
"But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to
your inheritance at the end of the days."
Even
Lord Jesus Christ mentioned in Matthew 24:13
Matthew
24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved
