Revelation 10 : 08 - 11

Revelation 10 : 08 - 11

8            Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth."
9            So I went to the angel and said to him, "Give me the little book." And he said to me, "Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth."
10          Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter.
11          And he said to me, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings."
Digest and declare God’s Word (10:8-11
“Then the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard again speaking with me, and saying, ‘Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.’”
In Revelation 5, it was the Lamb who took the scroll from the Father. Here, John takes the open book from the strong angel. What exactly does this little book say? The Bible doesn’t say directly. Yet there are a couple of clues. In 10:7, John is told that the sounding of the seventh trumpet will complete the mystery of God. This is a clue that the contents of the book are all the information regarding the rest of the tribulation. In 10:11, when John is informed that his commission to prophesy continues, there is indication that the contents of the little book are that prophecy.
In 10:9, John approached the angel and requested the little book.28 The angel told John, “Take it and eat it.” This is quite strange, to say the least. Imagine sitting around munching on the Bible! Usually, eating a book is not very nourishing! Books normally do not contain vitamins! Yet, this is the third time in the Scriptures that a person is told to eat a book (cf. Jer 15:13-17;

Jer. 15:16 O LORD, You know; Remember me and visit me, And take vengeance for me on my persecutors. In Your enduring patience, do not take me away. Know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

Ezekiel 3:8      But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you."
9        Now when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.
10      Then He spread it before me; and there was writing on the inside and on the outside, and written on it were lamentations and mourning and woe.
Ezekiel 3:
1        Moreover He said to me, "Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel."
2        So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll.
3        And He said to me, "Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you." So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness.

Why? Eating is a universal idiom for receiving knowledge. John is being challenged to know and understand God’s prophetic Word. But biblical knowledge is not merely knowledge for the sake of knowledge. It refers to assimilating knowledge into one’s life. God wanted John to digest the contents of the book so that it would change him personally. He needed personal transformation. This is also true for each of us. It is not enough to read the Bible; we must apply the Bible to our lives. Reading the Bible without applying is like eating without chewing. No one would consider such a thing!

In 10:9, this angel tells John that this book “will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” This is a sweet and sour scroll.God’s Word can be bittersweet and hard to digest. Let’s face it; sometimes “relief” is not spelled b-o-o-k. Sometimes God’s Word can give us heartburn. Other times it is sweet to the taste.
We must understand that prophecy and Scripture, as a whole, is bittersweet. There are sweet
promises in the Bible, but there are also bitter warnings. God’s Word can bring joy to our heart, but at times it brings sorrow. It both blesses us and burdens us. People get excited about studying prophecy. Preaching from Revelation thrills people. Unquestionably, there are some exciting things about this book. It has a sweet taste. But it also burdens the believer about his unsaved family and friends, and is a stern warning of judgment to come to the unbeliever.

In 10:10, John writes, “I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.”
This revelation was pleasant at first because it was a revelation from God (cf. Ps 119:103).

Ps 119:103         How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Please note that John tastes God’s revealed Word. It is not enough to see the book in someone’s hand or even to know what it contains. We must appropriate it into our lives. We must assimilate it and digest it. Too many Christians do not make the Word part of their inner being. Yet, our privilege as believers is not only to read the Bible but also to assimilate it into our lives. God won’t force-feed us with His Word; rather, He exhorts us to take it from His hand, eat it and assimilate it into our lives. The Word of God is the food of the Christian. It is compared to bread (Matt 4:4), milk (1 Pet 2:2), and honey (Ps 119:103).

Still, as John meditated on it and comprehended the fearful judgments that it predicted, he became distressed. Have you ever experienced the sweet and bitter dimensions of God’s Word? We read of God’s love and mercy toward us, His eternal plan of salvation, His promise to give us a future and a hope, and the assurance of eternal life. That’s sweet! But then the Word also speaks directly to areas in our lives that may require change. Maybe your behavior or lifestyle dishonors God and is in direct violation of His Word. Maybe you have excused a bad attitude or a critical spirit in your life. At times, God’s Word can be a painful tool of correction. But it is always redemptive! It is always for our good.

Amos 5:18-20
18 Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! For what good is the day of the LORD to you? It will be darkness, and not light.
19 It will be as though a man fled from a lion, And a bear met him! Or as though he went into the house, Leaned his hand on the wall, And a serpent bit him!
20 Is not the day of the LORD darkness, and not light? Is it not very dark, with no brightness in it?

In 10:11, John writes, “And he said to me, ‘You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.”
John is recommissioned to faithfully proclaim God’s Word and judgment on the wicked (cf. Jer 1:9-10). John must speak! In a similar manner, as a pastor, I am commissioned to faithfully proclaim the entire Word of God. Each of you, as fellow believers, is also commissioned to the same task of applying and proclaiming His Word. Being a true prophet of God is no easy task. It requires a man or woman to tell people what they don’t want to hear.
Humanly speaking, we would rather speak “sweet” words for God, rather than “bitter” words which cause men to react against us. When God sent forth His prophets, He warned them of the danger of compromising their message, making it easier for the people to hear, but thus diluting God’s warning about the dire consequences of sin (see Isa 5:20).

I hear many different “messages” being proclaimed by the evangelical community, but nearly all of them have a “sweet” taste to them (cf. Isa 30:10). There are messages about being successful and effective. There are messages about a positive outlook and a positive self-image, but frankly there is not much said negatively about sin and God’s holy wrath. If judgment was near enough that the apostle John needed to be hardened by the eating of that scroll, should we not be more direct and more pointed in speaking to men and women about the realities of sin, righteousness, and judgment?

Revelation 10:- 5-7

Revelation 10:- 5-7

5        The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven
6        and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer,
7        but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

Rev 10:5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven
We already discussed about this verse in the previous session. This verse shows the authority of the angel that means Yesuha’s authority on heaven and earth.
Math 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Apart from that this is Israelite’s traditions we can see an example from the Old Testament when Abraham after conquer the Subdomains, he taking oath against the king of Sodom saying that
Gen 14:23 "I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth,

Another example we can see an angel taking oath to Daniel. When he taking oath what he is doing we will see from book of Daniel 12:7
Daniel 12:7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished.
Rev 10:6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer,

That gives us a glimpse of what is coming in the book of Revelation. This mighty Angel began by raising his right hand to heaven. Have you ever had to do that when you took an oath in a court, and swore to tell the truth? This is where that ritual originated. The raising of the hand looks back to this very scene in Revelation. It is a sign that a solemn oath is about to be taken. The Angel swore by God, the One who created the earth, the heaven, and the sea, and everything in them. "we know that this was Christ the Creator himself; would he swear by himself?" Yes, it is Christ. But I remind you that, in the book of Hebrew 6:13 when God wanted to swear an oath to Abraham that he would keep his promises to him, we are told that because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself.
“Heb 6:13       For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,”
That is what Jesus is doing here. He is swearing by the triune God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
…that there should be delay no longer,

For what the delay no longer ?
1.      All end time prophecies told in the Holy Scripture to be full fill without delay no longer.
2.      The rapture of God’s people is  delay no longer.
3.      All wraths of the God on wicked people will be delay no longer.
4.      To destroying the serpent by God will be  delay no longer.
5.      The judgment day will be delay no longer.
6.      Millennium year of reigning will be delay no longer.
7.      The eternity life will be delay no longer.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I request you all to open your ears and be alert. This message is not told by somebody but Yesuha Himself telling this message to us “delay no longer”, Yes the time is no more.

Mystery of God would be finished…
Okay, now let’s consider the meaning of the remarkable passage:
“…but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished…”
(musthv rion Musterion) The Greek word is derived from the verb muo; to shut the mouth. Daniel’s words were sealed until the time was ready.  One day the meaning of all prophecy will be revealed.  There will not be a mystery of God’s plans any more in the time …. “In the days of the sounding of the seventh angel”

The phrase “the mystery of God would be finished” speaks of the mystery that has always surrounded God’s timetable for these last days. For God has consistently remained silent, even under cross-examination, to reveal the time. The prophet Daniel, for instance, was refused an answer when he asked about it (Dan.12:5-9). When the Apostles did likewise Jesus said, “But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” (Matt.24:3,36). In other words, dear ones, the date for these last days will remain a mystery known only to the Father until God openly declares it at the appointed time revealed by this passage.

He declared to His servants the prophets…   God has already revealed parts of his plan in the
scriptures through his prophets.  We are told in Daniel 12:10, those who are wise will understand God’s plan, but none of the wicked will understand.  Understanding God’s end-time plan is a blessing and a sign of wisdom according to the scriptures.

In the Amos God told nothing He will without telling to his server prophet.
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.

In the book of revelation there are many incidents are told by John. Many God’s people and commentators are explained the vision and mystery. But every one explaining the different manner. Why this contradiction, because know ones know the real. God will reveal all those thing when time comes. When Daniel time he don’t know about 70 weeks, but we all of us know about the 7o weeks prophecy. How we came to know this prophecy because the time came so God revlead to us which not revealed to Daniel. Same like this all the prophecy will be reveal when the time comes.

Revelation 10: 3b,4

Revelation 10: 3b,4

Rev. 10:3b …seven thunders uttered their voices.

Rev. 10:4          Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them."
"WHAT is a THUNDER? "
Holy Scripture comparing the God’s voice into different worldly things one good reference from the Psalms 29:3-9
3        The voice of the LORD is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The LORD is over many waters.
4        The voice of the LORD is powerful; The voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
5        The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars, Yes, the LORD splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
6        He makes them also skip like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.
7        The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.
8        The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; The LORD shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh.
9        The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth, And strips the forests bare; And in His temple everyone says, "Glory!"
Now will see other references related to Thunder
A Thunder, according to the following Scriptures, spiritually signifies the "VOICE of God":
Psalms 77:18 -   "The voice of thy thunder [was] in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world; the earth trembled and shook." "
Psalms 104:7 - "At Thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of Thy thunder they hasted away."
In John 12:28, we find Jesus was talking with the Father, and the people around Him taught that they heard a THUNDER:
I was about to write;

Here we can see when John was about to write what he heard. Because so for he did the same. What ever he heard and saw he recorded every thing. In that same manner he want to record the same thing.

“… but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me”

This scripture not mentioned the voice belongs to whom ?  because we can understand that the thunder is the sound of Yahweh. Again another voice from heaven means we can mean that this voice also belongs to Yahweh. This voice not belongs to Yesuah also. Because He is standing in front of Yohannan as mighty angel.  After seeing thing what we can understand is this voice belongs to another arc angle from the heaven. How I am telling this is belongs to angels voice

When we see who is explaining the end time prophecy to Daniel is nothing but ark angle Gabriel.
Daniel  8:16     And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, who called, and said, "Gabriel, make this man understand the vision."

Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them."

the voice is telling to Yohannan do not write what you heard but you seal these thing within you.  This same scenario happened to Daniel three times.

Daniel 8:26 : " And the vision of the evenings and mornings Which was told is true; Therefore seal up the vision, For it refers to many days in the future."

Daniel 12:4 :   "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

Daniel 12:9 :   “And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.”

Form these three verses we having a clue when all these prophecies will be fulfill.

First clue from Dan.8:26 are “many days in the future” from this what we can understand is this prophecy will not happened in Daniel time.

Second clue from Dan 12:4 “knowledge shall increase” we know that now how much the knowledge increased. In the entire sector how the technology was increased day by day. So what we can understand from the second clue the time to mentioned to Daniel is nothing but our time, this time only. We are reached that time.

Third clue from Dan 12:9 “time of the end” how we can understand that end of time. Many Bible scripture mention about what the sign are will happen at the end of time. Very good example Mathew chapter 24 our Lord Yesuah explained clearly. Whatever He mentioned in that all things are happing right now. Every day some disasters is happening throughout the world.  Form these incidents we can understand that “time of the end” is nothing but our time only.
In this same manner the angel tells to Yohannan to seal up the thing what you heard from Yahweh. When these thing will be fulfill
Rev 10:7         but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

When the seventh angle about the sound the seventh trumpet, we have to understand here not after the sound before the sound that means what ever happening in sixth trumpet will full filled this mystery will be fulfilled.  When this sixth trumpet prophecy is completing? After the resurrection of two prophets. What the purpose of two prophets coming down? They will do the end time ministry to save the end time souls from satan. In those times who are all accepting our Lord Yesuah as their personal savior they are saved. Who are   all not accept our Lord Yesuah as their personal savior they are perished. In this time only the mystery of seven thunders will be fulfill.

What the seven thunders would be ?

We know that when Yesuah was in world he spoke seven words on the cross. I am not to going to explain all the seven words but I want to tell the relationship between those seven words and these seven thunders.

Seven words of Yesuah

This seven words of Yahweh is might be about the wicked people and redeemed people why I am telling this is,
1.      we know that what are the things happening while opening seals and blows the trumpets many wicked are died and many people are saved.
2.      We can see in Daniel 12: 10 what will happen when prophecy fulfill
Dan 12:10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

These two reasons only the seven thunders that is voice of Yahweh also might me related to this.
