Rev.9:14,15 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."

15. So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.

Release the four angels

The angels released from the Euphrates River are probably fallen angels because they have been bounded there. The Greek word for “bound” (deō) is only used twice in the Book of Revelation. The other verse where this word appears is in Revelation 20:2, which describes Satan being bounded for 1000 years.

Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, the four angels bounded at the Euphrates River are imprisoned in a similar manner that Satan will be imprisoned for one thousand years.

The treatment of these four angels is interesting to note because they will be temporarily released from their bondage unlike the group of angels described in Jude 1:6 and 2 Peter 2:4.

Jud 1:6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;

 2Pe 2:4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

Revelation 9:14-15 states that the four angels who will be released “were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year” at the Euphrates River. This phrase indicates that these angels are reserved for a specific purpose-primarily causing the type of chaos that leads to the death of a third of mankind.

“…the great river Euphrates”

•  the New Testament Greek name for the river, pronounced yoo-frat-ace, which means sweet water. In the Old Testament Hebrew (although most English translations use the Greek word for the actual Hebrew word, which is completely different), the river is called by the Hebrew name pronounced per-awth, which means to break forth, or rushing.

The Euphrates is also referred to in the Holy Scriptures simply as "the river" or "the great river."

This river connects between east to west. It is from Parish Gulf to Turkey. It covers the below countries

It holds more historical events. We will see only biblical events now.

1.      This river is running from the beginning of the earth that mean when God created the heaven and earth from that time onwards.

¹³         The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush.

¹⁴         The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.

8.      God gave the promise land to Israelites from the Western sea (Mediterranean) and the river of Euphrates. Gen 15:18, Due. 11:24 and Jos.1:4

Due. 11:24 Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory.

Killing a third of people

Revelation 9:15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

Armageddon war

"Armageddon" is spoken of directly in relation to a prior event at the Euphrates i.e. "the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared" ... "And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon."

¹³         And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared — By loosing them, as well as by their strength and rage.

To kill the third part of men — That is, an immense number of them.

For the hour, and day, and month, and year — All this agrees with the slaughter which the Saracens made for a long time after Mahomet's death. And with the number of angels let loose agrees the number of their first and most eminent caliphs. These were Ali, Abubeker, Omar, and Osman. Mahomet named Ali, his cousin and son-in-law, for his successor; but he was soon worked out by the rest, till they severally died, and so made room for him. Afterwards Abubeker went farther, and in the year 634 gained great advantage over the Persians and Romans in Syria. Under Omar was the conquest of Mesopotamia, Palestine, and Egypt made. Under Osman, that of Afric, (with the total suppression of the Roman government in the year 647,) of Cyprus, and of all Persia in 651. After Ali was dead, his son Ali Hasen, a peaceable prince, was driven out by Muavia; under whom, and his successors, the power of the Saracens so increased, that within fourscore years after Mahomet's death they had extended their conquests farther than the warlike Romans did in four hundred years.
