Introduction the chapter 16
Same pattern as the seven trumpets
1.
First four affecting creation
· They follow the same pattern as the seven trumpets: four
(affecting creation: earth, sea, water, and
Sun);
·
The first four affect the land, sea, springs of water and sun, i.e. God’s
creation as announced by the first of the three angels who commands those who
live on the earth to,
Rev 14:7 - Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give
glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made
heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
·
Because they refuse to worship Him but worship the beast, the first four
bowls affect the created order: the land, the sea, the waters and the sun.
2.
Two affecting the beast
3.
The final one in which the cities of the nations collapsed.
4.
Man is judged personally later
2 Thess 1:7-9
7And to you who
are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven
with his mighty angels,
8In flaming fire
taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our
Lord Jesus Christ:
9Who shall be
punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from
the glory of his power;

Nutshell of six bowel of wrath
Bowl 1 is poured out on the land and it effects the people who had the mark
of the beast and worshipped his image.
Bowl 2 is poured out on the sea.
Bowl 3 is poured out on the rivers
Bowl 4 is poured out on the sun
Bowl 5 is poured out over the throne of the beast.
Bowl 6 is poured out over the Euphrates
Bowl 7 is poured out into the air.
Rev 16: 1 And I heard a great voice
out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the
vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
1. And I heard a
great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels,
The voice out of the temple means we can
clearly understand this voice belongs to our God Yahuwah.
2. God voice from the
temple - God Commanding all the 7 angels go out and pour out on
the earth.
3.
Go your ways, - This means already
the God instructed all the 7 angels what to do?
2 Thess 1:7
7And to you who
are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven
with his mighty angels,
4. and pour out the
vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. :
Psa 69:24, 79:6,
People
Psa 69:24 - Pour out thine indignation
upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
Kings and Ruler
Psa 79:6 Pour out thy wrath upon the
heathen that have not known you, and upon the kingdoms that have not called
upon thy name.
28.1. First bowl (16:2)
16:2 The first
angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores
broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshipped his image
·
The bowl is poured out on the land but it affects man directly.
·
The first bowl affects all people who worship the beast and who have
therefore given their allegiance to him rather than God.
·
They refuse to worship God and therefore their hour of Judgement has come
(14:7).
·
See the similarity with the sixth plague on Egypt, Exo9:9, in which
festering boils break out on the men and animals.
Exo 9:9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of
Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast,
throughout all the land of Egypt.

·
The land, yet people are affected, contrary to the first trumpet which did
not affect
people, Rev 8:7.
Rev 8:7
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire
mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of
trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

So the followers of the beast are afflicted with painful and ugly sores. In
Deu 28:35 painful boils were to be the judgement on those who disobeyed God.
Deu 28:35
35The LORD shall
smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be
healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
36The LORD shall
bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which
neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods,
wood and stone.
