Revelation
13:2,3
Rev 13:2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the
feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his
power, his throne, and great authority.
Rev 13:3 - The
whole world was astonished and followed the beast
Comparing Daniel 7 and Revelation 13
The first beasts of Revelation 13 is
the same power as the terrible fourth beast in Daniel 7
The Last Empire
The first
beast of Revelation 13 is rightly identified as the empire (Europe) .The
empire arises out of a raging sea, which is said to be many “peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and
tongues” (Rev. 17:15). Whereas
the leader comes out of the empire after it arises. The first beast in
this passage has ten horns, just like the terrible fourth beast
in Daniel 7. Both of these beasts represent Europe. What is the naturel behavior of this
empire ?
Take a close look of both Daniel’s and John’s
visions
In Daniel’s vision 1st
animal was lion, 2nd animals was Bear and 3rd one was
Leopard. The same way in John’s vision the body of the beast was Leopard, foot
was Bear and face was Lion In both visions the animals were the same. These animals
are represent the behavior of last empire.
The behavior of
these animals are…
What does the Lion represents here?
All we know
that the specialty of lion’s roaring (by mouth). The roaring represents “Fear”,
“Wrath”, “blasphemy” and “false prophecy”.
Kings nature
We know that the
king of Babylonian king was. Let see his nature.
Daniel
5:19,20 And because of the majesty that He gave him, all
peoples, nations, and languages trembled
and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished,
he kept alive; whomever he wished, he set up; and whomever he wished, he put
down.
20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his
spirit was hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and
they took his glory from him.
The last kingdom ruler also
will have the same character
2 Thes 2:3-4 “Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day
will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is
revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is
called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple,
proclaiming himself to be God“.
What he did ?
The Babylonian kingdom was represents
the lion in the Daniel vision. Babylon
king Nebuchadnezzar asked to worship the statue
Daniel 3:5,6 “…you shall fall down and
worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up; and whoever does
not fall down and worship shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace.”
The same thing will happen
in the end days. The end ruler will make big statue and ask to worship
Rev 13:14
“…telling
those who dwell on the earth to make an
image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.
Who worshiped ?
Rev 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have
not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of
the world.
What will happen if they not worshiped?
Revelation 13:15 “…cause as many as would not
worship the image of the beast to be killed.”
The second thing happened
in the Babylonian was, after the Nebuchadnezzar, his son Belshazzar was came as
king. What he did?
Dan 5:2 While he tasted the wine,
Belshazzar gave the command to bring the gold and silver vessels which his
father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had been in Jerusalem,
that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from
them.
Belshazzar lifted up him
against God of heaven and he did abomination things with the holy
vessels which temple had
been in Jerusalem.
Daniel 5:23 And you have lifted yourself up against the
Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you
and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And
you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone,
which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand
and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.
The same thing will happen in the end of days
Daniel 9:27 Then he shall confirm a
covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring
an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one
who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured
out on the desolate."
Matthew 24:15 "Therefore when you
see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing
in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
So character of beast lion
(Babylonian Kingdom) will repeat in the final days
Proverb 19:12
The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion But his favor is like dew
on the grass.
Proverb 20:2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion. Whoever provokes
him to anger sins against his own life.
Joel 1:6 For a nation has come up against My land,
Strong, and without number; His teeth are the teeth of a lion, And he has the
fangs of a fierce lion.
Proverb 28:15 Like a roaring lion and a charging bear Is a
wicked ruler over poor people.
What does the Bear represents here?
•
Bear foot was very stronger
than any the animal. It can destroy anything by foot when it searching for prey
•
Daniel’s vision the Media –
Persia kingdom was referred as the beast bear
Background of this kingdom
Media was the dominant kingdom. But in 550 B.C.E., the Medes
came under the control of Persian King Cyrus II, who thereafter ruled over
the kingdom of Medo-Persia. Centered in the region north of the Persian Gulf,
this vast realm eventually stretched from the Aegean Sea to Egypt to northwestern
India and included Judea.
Medo-Persia ruled over the Jewish nation for more than 200
years—from the overthrow of Babylon in 539 B.C.E. until Medo-Persia
itself was defeated by the Greeks in 331 B.C.E. Numerous Bible books
comment on significant events that occurred during that time.
The Jerusalem temple was constructed by this
kindom
Biblical People lived in this period
The books of Ezra, Nehemiah and
Esther tell the history of how the Jews returned out of Babylon to rebuild the
temple at Jerusalem, and restore their home land. The prophets Haggai,
Zechariah, and Malachi lived during this time a period of about 100 years from
536-432 B.C. It was also at this time that Esther a Jewess, became the Queen of
Persia and saved her people from massacre.
Cyrus
gave permission to construct the temple
The Bible tells us that King
Cyrus II freed the Jews held captive in Babylon, allowing them to return
to Jerusalem and rebuild God’s temple, which the Babylonians had destroyed in
607 B.C.E. (Ezra 1:1-7; 6:3-5)
Even
Cyrus gave fund to construct the temple
Cyrus ordered that funds for temple
reconstruction “be given from the king’s house,”
says Ezra
6:3, 4.
The next
ruler Darius allowed to complete the temple in midst of opposers
The Bible tells us that opposers of
the Jews later wrote to Darius the Great (also called Darius I)
challenging the Jews’ claim that Cyrus had authorized the reconstruction of the
temple. Darius commanded that a search be made for the original written decree.
The outcome? A scroll containing Cyrus’ decree was found at Ecbatana, the
capital. In response, Darius wrote: “I, Darius, do put through an order. Let it
[temple reconstruction] be done promptly.” Opposition to the work then ceased. *—Ezra 6:2, 7, 12, 13.
Conquering kingdom
Persian king Cyrus defeated the Medes and then
waged war against neighboring Lydia and Babylon. His son Cambyses II
conquered Egypt. Later Medo-Persian rulers expanded the empire even farther. We
can see this in Daniel vision. An angel of God interpreted this vision, saying
to Daniel: “The ram that you saw possessing the two horns stands for the
kings of Media and Persia.”—Daniel
8:3, 4, 20.
In the same way the last kingdom and the ruler
of the kingdom going to do the same
The temple of Jerusalem going the
construct In this last kingdom and the ruler of the this kingdom was going to
conquer every one and will get a great power.

Rev. 13:7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome
them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.
2 Sam. 17:8 For," said Hushai, "you know your father and his men, that they
are mighty men, and they are enraged in their minds, like a bear robbed of her
cubs in the field;…
Proverb 28:15 Like a roaring lion and a charging bear Is a
wicked ruler over poor people.
Daniel 7: 5
"And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised
up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they
said thus to it: 'Arise, devour much flesh!‘
The beast, final empire , is
"like a leopard, and his feet like those of a bear, and his mouth like the
mouth of a lion."
What the beast Leopard represents ?
Leopard is fastest running animal in
the world (120 km/h).
In Daniel vision the third beast
leopard referred the Greek kingdom
Daniel 8:5 And as I was considering, suddenly a male goat came from the west,
across the surface of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the
goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

The last empire will executes or
implements the law and orders are very fast. Because of it short duration
Satan has short time
Rev. 12:12 O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to
the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you,
having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time."
Kingdom has shot time
Rev 13:5 “he was given authority to
continue for forty-two months.”
Rev. 17:10
There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has
not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time.
If this is an empire, there should be
a king for this empire If this empire will be the last empire of the world
means, the king also the last king for the world. Daniel 7 is explained this
last king will rise up in midst of these 10 kings
Daniel 7: 8 I was considering the horns, and there was
another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the
first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes
like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.
This small horn is nothing but the
antichrist (we will discuss about antichrist in later sessions).
Rev. 13:3 - The whole world was astonished and followed
the beast. –
These who follow
the beast (i.e. his followers) should be contrasted with the 144,000 who have
the name of Lamb and his Father’s name upon their foreheads and who follow the Lamb wherever he goes
(14:1-4). The whole world refers to the unregenerate, i.e. all those who are
not saints. In 17:8 we find that the cause of their astonishment when they see
the beast is because he once was, now is not, and yet will come.
