Revelation 2:12
Revelation 2:12 "And to the
angel of the church in Pergamum write: 'The words of him who has the sharp
two-edged sword.
And to the angel of the church in Pergamum
write
Same
like other churches, this letter also the Lord told to write to minister of the
Pergamum church.
'The words of him who has the sharp two-edged
sword.
·
This word 3 times repeated in the revelation.
·
Our Lord introduced Himself to this
church like sharp two edged sword.
·
We need to see why our Lord introducing
like this? To understand that first understands the nature of the sword. If we
cut anything by sword, it will become two peaces. What He going to speak to
this church is going to piers their soul? Whatever He spoke to this church, is
going to bring the justice. So the word of sharp two-edged sword means the word
of justice.
·
In the Rev 2:16 Lord said repent, it not I will come and fight against you with my
sharp two edged sword.
In general who will speak like this?
Prophets Isaiah 49:2 told “Lord made my mouth like a sharp sword” and in Ecclesiastics 12:11
Salomon told “The words of the
wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings;
they are given by one Shepherd.”
The word of God like this when God spoke through an ordinary man means think of if He speak directly who will have the
strength to stand in front of Him.
Always the word of God is like that it wills pears our soul. St.
Paul also stated in Hebrew epistles
4:12 “For the word of
God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the
division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the
thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
So the sword represented his justice, His justice will be always
righteous in all the time.
