Revelation 3:5

Revelation 3:5

Revelation 3:5 The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.

I.      The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments
This we discussed detail in the previous verse(Rev.3:4)

II.      I will never blot his name out of the book of life
·         The Bible refers to three books of record:
(1)    The Book of Life,
(2)    book of the wars -> Numbers 21:14 (eng), num 21:15(tamil)
(3)    Book of Law -> Book of Deuteronomy , Jos 1:8, 8:31, 8:34 …
(4)    Book of Remembrance. - > Mal 3:16
But here we will mainly center on the Book of Life.
·         What is the book of life ?
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
Dan 7:10  A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

·         When our name will write in the Book of Life
1.       In Mother’s womb
The Bible tells us that everyone from the age of conception was created and formed by God in our mother's womb.  At that point, He then recorded everyone in His Book of Life.
Note : According to the Tanakh (The Jewish Scriptures - the Old Testament) every person's name is recorded in God's book.

Psalm 139:13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
Psalm 139:14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[1] Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Psalm 139:15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; IN YOUR BOOK WERE WRITTEN, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them.

2.       The Righteous person
Ø  This was a commonly understood belief by the ancient Jews that one must be righteous to have their names written in the Book of Life.

Ø  The Book of Life contains the names of the righteous in God.
Psalm 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; let them not be enrolled among the righteous.

The questions then arise:  Can one's name be removed from the Book of Life, and how is it removed?
·          The answers one of the questions is, yes, a person's name can be removed from the Book of Life.
i.         Moses pleaded with God not to blot the names out of those who had sinned against Him.  He even asked of God that if  He refused, then blot out his name as well.
    •  Exo 32:32 "Yet now, if You will forgive their sin; but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written."  The Lord responded by saying:
    • Exo 32:33 And the LORD said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.
  1. King David, praying on behalf of the sins of the Israelites, beseeched God to not remove his name from His book.
iii.      If anyone changed the meaning of prophecy
o    Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and  from the things which are written in this book.

iv.      Who working for gospel that means who servring the Lord those people name will be written in the book of life
Ø  Phil 4:3 And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

Other scriptures referring to the Book of Life:
In Most tribulation time whose name is written in the book of life those people will be delivered from the trouble
Ø Dan 12:1 "At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.
What happened if name not written in the book of life
Ø Rev 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Ø  Rev 17:8 "The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Ø  Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Ø  Rev 21:27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

 (3)Book of Remembrance.
v.
vi.             Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard  it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Revelation 3:6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
